During a week of poor weather for track and field meets two outstanding runners ran a sizzling 1600m race at the Madison City Track and Field Meet held at Mansfield Stadium which is located on the campus of Madison Memorial High School. Jocelyn Burke [L] a senior from Madison Edgewood and Karen Greuel [R] a senior from Madison La Follette ended the race in a photo finish with the win going to Greuel in 5:07.3. Burke finished in 5:07.3+.
