Senior Sarah Sudbury of Tomahawk has been a State Medalist in the D2 800m in 2004 [ 2:19.32, 6th], 2005 [2:18.51, 5th] and 2006 [2:17.55, 3rd].
In addition she was a member of the Tomahawk D2 4x8 relay teams that medaled in the 2004, 2005 and 2006 State Meets. The picture above shows Sudbury and Diedre Dillman of Prairie du Chien in the 2006 D2 800m race.

Above: In Kelly O'Day's photo Sudbury is seen winning the 800m [2:25.7 HHT] at the Otto Bacher meet in Merrill. She also won the 400m [1:02.0 HHT] and anchored the winning Tomahawk 4x8 relay team. The 4x8 relay team set an Otto Bacher meet record with a time of 09:56.9. Those three wins helped Tomahawk win the Otto Bacher for the first time ever as the 'Hatchets' finished 2-1/2 points ahead of runnerup Lakeland.

Left: [L-R] The finals of the 2006 WIAA State Meet D2 800m race featured runners Sarah Sudbury of Tomahawk [3rd in 2:17.55], Ashley Beutler of Belleville-New Glarus [2nd in 2:15.94], Prairie du Chien's Deidre Dillman [ 1st, 2:14.51], and Ann Tank [#5] of Dodgeville-Mineral Point [7th in 2:19.29]. All of these 800m runners return for the 2007 season. Not pictured but returning for 2007 are Courtney Oldenburg of West Salem [5th, 2:18.40], Melissa Burghardt of Winneconne [6th, 2:19.18], and Jil Kerkman of Union Grove [8th, 2:20.09].
