Ashley Beutler [left] a junior from Belleville - New Glarus won the 1600m [5:14.55] and the 3200m [ 11:15.41]. Beutler who was named the 2006 State Girls Runner of the Year by the Wisconsin Cross Country Coaches Association broke Sauk Prairie's Leah Schroeder's record in the 3200m [ 11:54.45, 2005] by 39 seconds. She also broke Melissa Manke's 1600m record of 5:20.48 set in 2005. Ashley is pictured above with her parents [L-R]: Mother Laurie, father Mike and stepmother Beth.
Elkhorn senior Markie Schmidt [left] won the 800 in 2:25.44 and set a record in the 400m by posting a 1:00.87. Schmidt broke Ann Detmer's old record of 1:01.17 which was set in 2004. Brown Deer junior Kaya Senaya is pictured on the left in the long jump event. She placed second in the long jump with a jump of 17' 00.00.
Senaya set records in the 55m and 200m events with times of 7.26 and 25.95. She broke the 55m record set by Brown Deer's Octavia Erkins in 2004 and the 200m record of 27.34 set by Tierney Ballweg of Sauk Prairie in 2004.
