The week of April 9-14 was a difficult week to compete in track and field. Rain, cold, snow and sunless days made it tough to get meets scheduled or completed througout the state. As athletes carried their equipment into the Catholic Memorial track area Saturday morning the overcast skies gave little optimism for a good day. However in the tradition of Wisconsin track and field athletes who sometimes compete in the worst of conditions the competitors began the meet. Snow banks gave a visual reminder of the bad weather conditions of the past week. As the meet continued the temperature warmed and there was even a hint of sun as the last events were being run. Congratulations to all the athletes who performed and made the meet a successful venture.
