Coach Olson of Wausau East knew that even with a great 800m runner at anchor that the Wolverines from Waukesha West would make them earn any medal that they might get. Coaches Ramsey and Chandler at Waukesha West had their runners prepared for the best and the best it was as both teams ran the third and fourth best 4x8 times in Wisconsin High School Girls Track history. As the sun broke through the morning mist at La Crosse the track was already warm from the blistering race run by the Lumberjacks from Wausau East [9:18.86] and the Wolverines of Waukesha West [9:19.92].

Wausau East won the 4x8 but there were no losers in that event. Seventeen of the Top Twenty times in the Honor Roll 4x8 Relay List were set on Saturday, June 2. Each team gave it everything they had. That is the mark of a winner and track fans were treated to an exciting start to the Saturday portion of the 2007 WIAA Track and Field State Meet.
