Long Jump Competition

[L-R]: Katie Fondow a sophomore at UW-La Crosse [Green Bay West], Beth Richter a senior at UW-Stevens Point [Green Bay Preble], and Stephanie Verstoppen a freshman at UW-Stevens Point [Shawano/Gresham] are pictured in the long jump preliminaries.

Fondow won the event with a jump of 19' 00.00. Richter placed fourth [ 18' 05.75] while UW- La Crosse athletes Jena Durin [Evansville, Indiana ] was second [ 18' 10.50] and Caitlin Schetter [ Kiel ] was third [18' 08.00].

Left : Amanda Donath a sophomore at UW - Oshkosh [Kewaskum] is pictured in the 200m preliminaries. She set the record in the indoor 400m [57.36, 2006] and has the best Division III time in the country this year in the 400m [55.85]. Left : Marcia Taddy a senior at UW - Platteville [Two Rivers] is pictured in the 800m preliminaries.

Taddy is the defending indoor WIAC champion in the 800m and 1500m runs. She is also the defending NCAA Division III 1500m champion and has the top times in the nation [D3] in the 800m and 1500m events. At this years University of Nebraska Invitational she ran a 2:15.03 in the 800m. That was the fastest time ever run by a WIAC athlete.

Between track and cross country she has been recognized eight times as an All-American. Taddy is a health major at UW-Platteville with minors in biology and horticulture.

Above left: UW-Whitewater freshman Dana Thompson [ Belleville - New Glarus] placed seventh in the shot put competition with a throw of 12.28m [ 40' 03.50]. Thompson was a starter on the UW-Whitewater womens basketball team that played in a WIAC womens basketball playoff game on Tuesday night against UW-Platteville. Friday was only her third day out for track. Thompson was the D2 champion in the discus and placed 2nd in the D2 shot put at the 2006 State Meet..

Above and right: Susie Trzebiatowski of UW- Oshkosh [ Rosholt ] won the 2007 WIAC shot put event with a put of 44'04.00. Trzebiatowski placed 2nd in the D3 shot put and third in the D3 discus at the 2006 State Meet.
