Big 8 Conference Meet Hosted By Madison La Follette

Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Lussier Stadium on the campus of Madison La Follette





Beloit Memorial, Janesville Craig, Janesville Parker, Madison East, Madison La Follette, Madison Memorial, Madison West, Middleton and Sun Prairie competed at Lussier Stadium for the Big 8 Championship. Coach Tara Franklin's Middleton team won with 156.5 points. Sun Prairie was the runnerup with 118 points folowed by Janesville Parker and Madison La Follette. In the 100m HH finals [above] Parker junior Shelby Demos [4th from right] won with a time of 15.97. Teammate Cassie Niles [3rd from right] was second.

Above L-R: Madison La Follette junior Samia Taylor [#6], Madison Memorial junior Lauren Rock [#5], Sun Prairie's Kortney Krueger [#9] and Janesville Craig sprinter Nikki Scieszinski [#4] in heat 3 of the 400m dash event. Rock won the event with a time of 59.33. Taylor finished second while Scieszinski finished fourth.

Maggie Bollig [right] a junior at Middleton [right] had quite a night winning the 800m 2:24.67], 1600m [5:14.09], and 3200m 11:48.88] running events. At the 2007 State Meet Bollig finished fifth in the D1 800m event.

Baltisberger and Sun Prairies Liz Berkholtz on the last lap of the 1600m. Berkholtz held off Baltisberger and took second with a time of 5:24.53.

The Cardinals of Middleton won the 4x2 relay [1:46.12]. Sun prairie finished second [1:46.96]. On the far left Middleton anchor Melissa Landsee gives her team a slight lead with 70m to go. Middleton 4x2 champions L-R: Melissa Landsee, Laura McGinnis, Eileen Walz, and Cyndi Hovey.

Mr. Hanson's Chemistry Class at Madison Memorial would be in session on Wednesday. Meets can last a long time, especially a conference meet. This athlete is using her in-between event time to prepare for her chemistry class.




The Sun Prairie Cardinal 4x8 relay took first with a time of 10:00.18. Teammembers were Tracy Kong [above left], Maura McManus [above right], Ashley Ives [below left], and Amanda Walker [below right].
