Big 8 Conference Meet Hosted By Madison La Follette

Senior Lindsey Parker of Madison East won the pole vault with a height of 10' 6. Parker is shown [above left] clearing 10' 00. La Follette's Brea Imse [above right] was third at 9' 09.

Second place went to Madison Memorial's Susie Heller [left] who cleared 10' 00.

The top four places in the discus competition were very close. Second place went to Lisa Brown [above left] from Madison Memorial [ 122' 08]. Middleton's Emily Larson [above right] had a throw of 124' 08 to take first. Below L-R: Desiree Metcalf [Janesville Craig, 4th, 120' 07], Erica Moen [Janesville Parker], third place finisher Maureen Raab [Madison Memorial, 122' 04], and sisters Tamara Wade and Tiffany Wade from Madison La Follette.



Shelby Demos [not pictured] won the HJ [5' 02]. Demos is on the HR list with a 5' 07 jump. Above L-R]: Third place HJ winner Taryn Olson [Madisn Memorial, 5' 00]. Fourth place finisher JoLyn Owen [Middleton [ 5' 00]. Second place went to Paige Demos [Janesville Parker , 5' 00].

Laura McGinnis

Laura McGinnis [above left] from Middleton won the triple jump at the Big 8 meet [34' 07.50]. She won the TJ on her last jump in finals. Last Saturday at the Monona Grove Invite McGinnis was in first until the last jump of the competition. Samia Taylor [far right] from Madison La Follette jumped 35' 06 on her last jump at Monona Grove to take first. At the Big 8 Meet Taylor was in first until the last jump in the TJ by McGinnis. Taylor took second [34' 06.50]. JoLyn Owen [knee brace] is shown in the TJ. Owen is a multi-sport athlete who played on Middletons State D1 runnerup basketball team. Owen was Honorable mention on the AP All-State Basketball team. She also lettered in volleyball at Middleton.
