Bria Halama [right-picture by Charlie Gauger of the Whitehall Times] is a ninth grader who won the Dairyland Conference 400m championship with a time of 59.22 [FAT]. She is currently ranked #2 on the D3 400m HR list and is in the top 15 of the D1-D3 400m HR list. At the Dairyland Conference Meet Halama also finished 2nd in the TJ. Bria now has the school record in the TJ [35' 02], 100m [13.22], 400m [59.22], and 200m [27.16]. Gilmanton is a school of 74 students and combines with Independence [125 students] for track and field. Two other Halama's [non-related] on the team are:. Beth Halama, a junior, throws the shot and discus while Kaylyn Halama is a vaulter and also runs the 400m event. Bria's older sister Callie [purple jersey on the left] is a senior and suffered a knee injury in basketball that prevented her from going out for track this year. As a junior Callie ran in the D3 State Meet 400m finals finishing 8th. Callie Halama is pictured on the left with Lexi Schaffer from Hilbert who finished 7th in the 2007 D3 400m. |

No list is ever complete. It is impossible for the HR to cover every meet and take pictures of every athlete who has a HR performance. Hopefully next season coaches will arrange to have pictures sent of athletes who have performances that should be recognized.
