The Hurdle Races: The 100m HH and 300m LH Events

Dodgeland senior Megan Rennhack [L] completed a busy May 3-4 weekend with 6 wins in two major meets. In a D2-D3 meet at Deerfield on Friday night she recorded wins in the 100m, 100m HH, 300m LH, and the LJ setting meet records in both hurdle events.

On Saturday she went against mostly D1 competition at the Lady Highlander meet hosted by Homestead. At the Highlander she won both hurdle races. At last years State Meet Rennhack set the record for the D3 300m LH event.

Rennhack has led a resurgence of girls track at Dodgeland. Megan Rennhack is the D3 record holder in the 300m LH. She is also the leader in both hurdle races on the Week 8 Honor Roll list.

Samantha Berg [above] a junior from Kettle Moraine is second on the D1-D3 HR list for the 100m HH. At the 2007 State Meet she finished 6th inthe 100m HH and 4th in the 300m LH D1 events.


Senior Lindsay Schwartz from Watertown was the 100m HH D1 State Champion and runnerup in the 300m LH in 2006 . Last year she placed in both hurdle races at the State. This season Schwartz is #2 on the LH HR list after week 8 and is in the top ten of the 100m HH HR list. Schwartz is pictured above left and right. Samantha Berg is also pictured above right.
Nikki Parker [black jersey] of Verona and Shelby Demos [right] of Janesville Parker are shown competing at the Janesville Parker Girls Invite. Parker won in 15.8 while Demos was second 15.8+ [HHT]. Demos is listed #3 on the Week 8 HR 100m HH list. Nikki Parker is a senior while Shelby Demos is a junior. Also shown [2nd from left] is Cassie Niles of Janesville Parker.

Cally Burrows [Left and above] a senior from Menomonee Falls is ranked high on the Week 8 HR lists in the HH and LH events. At the 2007 State Meet Burrows was 9th in the D1 HH and won the Silver Medal in the D1 LH. Senior Jenna Rozek [above - black jersey] of Franklin is currently ranked #4 on the Week 8 LH HR list. Rozek was a 2007 State Meet qualifier in the LH.


Above [L-R] La Crosse Logan junior Emily Betz was a 2007 State Qualifier in the HH. Shelby Schaal a Waterford senior qualified for the State Meet in 2007 in the 300m LH and is ranked on the Week 8 HR list for the HH. Brittany Groth a Wisconsin Lutheran junior is ranked on the Week 8 HH and LH list.

Bridget Sarafin [L] from Stanley - Boyd was the 2006 D2 Champion in the 300m LH [45.34] event. Despite a freak accident [story in Eau Claire Leader -Telegram] a week before the 2007 State Meet Sarafin competed in that meet.


She ran 45.25 in the 2007 300m LH finals bettering her 2006 time and winning the Silver Medal. Anna Johnson of Appleton Xavier won the 300m LH event by posting a time of 45.03.


Johnson has graduated and Sarafin hopes to challenge for the LH title at the 2008 State Meet.

D3 hurdler Jodi Bender a senior from defending D3 team champion Whitehall continues to improve. She placed in both hurdle races at the 2007 State Meet.
