The weather has played havoc with track meets this spring in Wisconsin. Athletes and fans from Stoughton spent almost as much time looking up at approaching weather systems as they did watching the events. The tornado that swept through the Stoughton area in August of 2005 was obviously on their minds. Despite a 70%+ chance of rain and thunderstorms the meet was run in rain free conditions. The sky alternated from clear sunny conditions to cloud formations that hinted at storm activity. The high winds made it tough on the runners and jumpers but the warm temperature and periods of sun were a welcome relief from the rains of last week. |
