2008 W/TFA State Indoor Championships: Field Events

La Crosses Logan's Emily Worden the defending D1 long jump champion won the long jump event with a distance of 18' 03.00. Worden is pictured on the far left jumping 18' 02.75. On the left Worden has hit the board. Charde Mayne [right] from Milwaukee Riverside University High School placed third with a jump of 17' 08.50. Andrea Fenderson [not pictured] of Racine Park was 2nd [17' 09.00]

Triple Jump: [L-R] W/TFA Champion Emily Haines [Tomah, 36' 08.00], Emily Wallenfang [Green Bay Preble [34' 06.00], Brooke Broeske [Homestead, 33' 10.00] and second place winner Shalesa Smith [Milwaukee King, 36' 06.50].





Mary Theisen a junior from Eau Claire Regis won the W/TFA shot put event with a throw of 42' 06.25. This was only 1 1/2 inches short of her Honor Roll leading mark of 42' 08.00. Like basketball players who have a 'ritual' before shooting a free throw each shot put athlete has a routine that helps with motivation and concentration. Theisen is pictured below with her routine.

Honor Roll High Jump leader Becca Buchholtz jumped 5' 05.00 to win the W/TFA high jump event. Buchholtz is a senior from East Troy. Buchholtz is pictured above .


Eau Claire Regis jumper Tessa Warner was second with a jump of 5' 04.00. Warner is pictured above right.


Taylor Schaefer [pictured on the right] a junior from Kimberly jumped 5' 02.00 to place fifth. Three jumpers cleared 5' 02.

Melissa Flucke a junior from Ashwaubenon was third [5' 02.00] and Liz Butler [Southern Door] was fourth.



Senior Marcia Roeper from Darlington [L] won the W/TFA pole vault with a height of 11' 00. Roeper [R] confers with her PV coach Tom Ingwell.

Melissa Flucke [below] of Ashwaubenon also vaulted 11' 00 but placed second on misses.

D1 runnerup at the 2007 State Meet Hilary Feyereisen from Hudson [dark blue jersey] was third [10' 06].

Ryanne Bell from Boscobel [red jersey] was fourth [10.03] while Brea Imse [dark red jersey] from Madison La Follette was 5th [10' 00].
