It is tough to take in all the events at a track meet. Without a 'jumbotron' to display the 'instant replays' a track fan can miss many of the great performances that take place during a meet. Larry Scheunemann's pictoral essay will give track fans a chance to replay some of the outstanding competitions that occured at the Waukesha North D1 Sectional.

Above: HH event.

Left and right: Last few strides of the 300m LH's. Jennifer Lehman Waukesha South [black jersey] won the 300m LH [45.39] while sophomore Katelyn Malcore from Brookfield Central was second [45.43].

Larry Scheunemann was at the State Meet long jump event the day that Larry Franklin set the present day boys long jump record. In 1965 Franklin of Madison Central jumped 25' 00.75 to set the LJ record. Bradley Tech senior Marcus Jenkins has jumped 25' 02.25 [Hartford Invite] this season. However State Records can only be set at the State Meet. The LJ pit at North barely held Jenkins winning jump of 22' 07.75.

Right: Long time Bradley Tech girls and boys coach Ken Williams ['T' hat] looks on as Jenkins hits the board.

Left: Marcus Jenkins boys long jump leader [25' 02.25].

'Cleared for takeoff': Girls long jump leader [19' 01.50] Chidera Obasih [below] prepares to launch a jump.

Hannah Trasser [left] Brookfield Central ninth grader won the 800m event. 800m runners [above] are pictured in lap 1 of the race.
