Emily Haines a junior from Tomah won the long jump and set a meet record in the triple jump at the Northern Badger Large Schools Meet. Her performance of 37' 05.00 in the TJ bettered the old record of 35' 11.50 set in 2003 by Alissa Ochs of Osseo. Haines winning distance in the LJ was 16' 09.00. Haines was a qualifier in the TJ at the 2008 State Meet. Emily's sister Katie Haines holds the Northern Badger Large Schools record in the LJ [17' 01.00, 2007]. Picture from 2008 State Meet.


Arcadia Raider junior Maya Vazquez who is the defending D2 LJ champion form 2008 set records in the 200m and long jump at the Northern Badger [Small schools] Meet held at UW-Stout on Saturday, March 21. Vazquez won four events: The 200m dash, the long jump, the 400m dash [1:02.80] and the high jump [5' 00]. In the 200m dash Vazquez posted a 26.71 to break Tracie Hittman's [Elk Mound] record of 27.19. In the long jump Vazquez jumped 17' 06.50 to break Lisa Townsend's record of 16' 07.75 which was set in 1993. Picture from 2007 State Meet.


In the Nelson-Daniels Classic Small Schools Meet held at the Kachel Center on the campus of UW-Whitewater senior Chantel McConville broke Whitewater's Becca Grafenauer's [2005] pole vault record of 10' 07 by vauting 10' 09.00.
