In the 200m Allen broke the record set by Dana Collins of Milwaukee Marshall in 1992 [25.9 HHT] by blazing to a 24.67 time. Then in the 400m dash Allen sped to a 58.05 performance breaking Theresa Wright's time of 59.9 [HHT, 1980]. Wright was also a Milwaukee North student.

Note: Tasha Allen ran a 7.07 'FAT' 55m at the MPS Meet. The record for the 55m is 6.9 'HHT.'

Milwaukee Bradley Tech senior Sharonda York [L] continued her improvement by breaking the 55m HH record set by Leandrea Collins of Milwaukee Tech in 2000. Vernon had posted a 8.8 [HHT]. York hurdled to a 8.75 clocking in setting the new record.

Eileen Gehring [L] a sophomore at Madison Edgewood High School tied the 55m dash record in the preliminaries at the 2009 Madison City Meet held at the 'Shell' on the campus of UW-Madison on Saturday, March 28 [week 2]. Gehring's time of 7.29 seconds tied the record set by Christina Clark from Madison La Follette in 2000. Four other athletes in the 1970's ran HHT times of 7.1 [translates to 7.34 'FAT']. At the 2008 State Meet Gehring finished 7th in the 100m and 6th in the 200m in D2.

At the Lois Wolf Invitational held at Whitefish Bay High School on Tuesday March 31, Chidera Obasih [R] a sophomore at Brookfield Central High School tied Flatria Horne's 220 yd dash record set by Horne in 1996. Horne was from Racine Park. That record was 26.62.

However a look back at the results of the Lois Wolf meet for 2008 shows that Obasih actually broke the record that year when she sprinted to a 26.58 clocking.

Obasih is the defending D1 100m and 200m champion from the D1 team 2008 team champion Lancers of Brookfield Central.
