Onalaska 4x4 Breaks W/TFA's Oldest Record
Senior Jami Hill of Onalaska anchored the Hilltopper 4x4 to a win and a record at the W/TFA Meet. Onalaska's time of 4:05.10 broke the old record of 4:05.8 set by Madison Memorial [Vicki Harris, Laura Graff, Darcy Farrell, and Dawn Mann] in 1980. The Onalaska team below consisted of [L-R]: Ahna Flood, Jami Hill, Jamie Burr, and Katie Hill.

The Menomonie 4x800m relay team ran a 10:10.99 at the Menomonie Indoor Invite held at UW-Stout on Tuesday, April 7, breaking the old meet record of 10:22.0 by 12 seconds (also set by Menomonie in 2007). Splits were:
- Kiko Wemmer - 2:41.3
- Jordan Kelch - 2:23.3
- Courtney Sawle - 2:29.1
- Kelsey Andrist - 2:36.9
The time was also an indoor school record for Menomonie (the old record was 10:22).
Jordan Kelch had 45 minutes to rest before her mile, in which she ran a very solid 5:23.16, breaking the old meet record of 5:39.0 set by Sparta's Areanna Lakowske last year. Kelch had 400m splits of 1:20/1:22/1:22/1:19 which was a very strong race coming off a good preformance in the 4x800m.
Finally, the girls team of Jordan Kelch, Courtney Sawle, Jena Darwin and Kelsey Andrist broke the meet record in the 4x400m. The team ran a 4:22.06, breaking the old record of 4:24.13 set by Menomonie in 2007.

Junior Jordan Kelch [left] of Menomonie broke the 1600m record set by Areanna Lakowske [5:39.04 set in 2008] a senior from Sparta by running to a clocking of 5:23.16. Lakowske finsihed second [5:31.88] and also broke her own record from 2008.
Other records set at the Menomonie Invitational were by Kat Keller a ninth grader from New Richmond who broke the 2008 55m record set by Christina Swangim of Chetek [7.78]. Keller posted a 7.71 to break the record. Swanim finished second [7.77] and also broke her old record.
Senior McKenzie Kelly of New Richmond smashed the 400m record set by Megan Belger of Bloomer [1:05.43] set in 2005 by blazing to a 1:01.02 clocking. Teammate Shelly Stockey a senior also broke the old record by placing second in 1:05.02.
The meet was a record breaking event as 4 other records fell. In the 4x400m relay Menomonie broke the old record of 4:24.13 set in 2007 by Menomonie by running to a 4:22.06 win. Runnerup Sparta also broke the od record when it finished second in 4:22.10. In the 4x800 Menomonie cut over 11 seconds of the old record [10:22.05] also set by Menomonie in 2007 when it ran to a time of 10:10.99.
In the field events Christina Swangim a senior from Chetek tied the pole vault record with a vault of 8' 06. Swangim also tied the long jump record of 15' 09.00 set by Chelsea VonRuden of Sparta in 2007. |

Senior Nicole Flackey [above] of D2 Ladysmith broke her own record in the shot put [35' 10.00] set in 2008. She had a throw of 39' 10.00 on April 7 at the Menomonie Indoor Invite held at UW-Stout. This distance also broke her school record of 38' 07.25 set at the 2008 State Meet. Flackey finished 3rd in the 2008 D2 shot put at La Crosse.
Senior Kayla Wagner [left] of Baldwin-Woodville made April 7 a night to remember with back to back impressive prefomances in the 1600m and 3200m races at the Prescott Invite. Wagner who finished second to the record setting Ashley Beutler in the 3200m at the 2008 State Meet and 7th in the 2008 D2 1600m at La Crosse posted times of 10:57.24 and 5:12.64. Both of those times moved her to the top of the midweek week 4 HR lists in those events.

At the Greater Metro Indoor Championships held at West Allis Central High School on Wednesday, April 8, junior Katelyn Malcore [L] broke the 55m high and low hurdle records. Malcore broke Calanetta Burrows record [Menomonee Falls, 2008, 8.87] by racing to a 8.67 clocking. Malcore's 8.37 in the low hurdles also broke Burrow's 2008 record [8.70].

Hamilton set a meet record in the 6 lap relay at the Greater Metro Indoor Championships. Team members L-R: Danielle Barbian, Brooke Patterson, Ellen Buckley, and Ashley Holicek. The old record was set in 2003 by Menomonie Falls [2:19.94]. The Chargers from Sussex set a new record with their time of 2:19.78 in the 4x240 [6 lap relay].

Hannah Weinberg-Kinsey jumped 5' 05 at the GMC Indoor Championships to set a new meet HJ record. She broke the record set by Eryn James of Wauwatosa East [5' 04, 2006]. Weinberg-Kinsey is pictured above breaking the record.
The picture on the left was taken at the Nelson-Daniels Classic large school meet held at UW-Whitewater in March in which Weinberg-Kinsey tied with Shelby Demos from Janesville Parker the State D1 Champion from 2008 when both jumpers made 5' 04. |

Hudson Sets School Records In Meet At Park - Cottage Grove [MN]
Hudson's 4x100 relay team set a school record of 50.88 at the Park - Cottage Grove Meet held on Thursday night, April 9. Also at the same meet, senior Alicia Bower set a school record when she threw the discus 125' 06.
