UW-Oshkosh Large Schools Invite

Monday, March 30, 2009 at the Kolf Sports Center at UW-Oshkosh. Results



Twenty-seven teams competed at the Kolf Sports center on Monday night. Coach Jason Goede's Wisconsin Lutheran Vikings came away with tthe team championship by scoring 71.5 points. Appleton North, Kimberly, Oshkosh North and Stevens Point followed WISCO. All 27 teams scored at the meet.


Senior Gina Gigot of Green Bay Preble is pictured on the right in the HH preliminaries. Gigot has come back from an injury that ended her junior year of competition.


She barely edged out versatile Danielle Allen of Oshkosh North as both hurdlers moved up to the top 10 in the HH HR list. Gigot was timed in 8.96 with Allen at 9.01.

Latifah Bryant
[Right, preliminaries] from Sun Prairie beat Krissy Day [not pictured] by .04 of a second to take the 55m dash first place medal at Oshkosh.

Bryant is pictured above in the finals where she posted a 7.68. Sam Blue [above] from Kimberly was third in 7.79. Chloe Derse from Hartford [above left] was 5th [7.90] .




400m Dash L-R]: Mackenzie Virnoche [Manitowoc Lincoln, 5th, 1:02.49], winner Jackie Forrest [SPASH, 1:01.84], Lauren Rahn [2nd, Wisconsin Lutheran, 1:02.12], Stephanie Stock [3rd, Green Bay Preble, 1:02.33], Kelly Van Berkel [Kauakauna], and Liz Beyer [4th, Oshkosh North, 1:02.41].




Above: Erica Halley from Appleton East in the 800m run [ 6th, 2:32.14]. Right: The 800m race was tighht all the way with .34 seconds separating 1st and 2nd. Megan Slats [SPASH] was the winner in 2:29.56 while Appleton North's Rachel Weber was second [2:29.90].

Sun Prairie sophomore Liz Berkholtz [left and right] hung back in the pack in the 1600m run before sprinting to a close win [5:20.32] over second place finisher Whitney Schumacher [5:21.18] of Kimberly [below].



Pulaski's Deedra Irwin [below left] was an early leader in a race that saw several lead changes.



Rachel Weber from Appleton North is pictured below. She finished in third [5:25.49].


Wisconsin Lutheran's Erica Spiegelberg [below and below right-blue jersey] won the 3200m run with a time of 11:53.04.

Kaukauna's Megan Stenz [orange jersey] was second [11:57.60].






In the 4x2 relay Wisconsin Lutheran [1:53.65] outran Appleton North [1:54.31] to take first place. Cassie Raduka [Occonomowoc, above left] is pictured at the start of a 4x2 section.

The WISCO winning relay team is pictured below L-R: Krissy Day, Alayna Greenfield, and Katie Blei. After running her leg in the relay Brittany Pintar [below right] left the meet early with her parents in order to get back home to study for an important test she would take on Tuesday.



The Plymouth 4x8 relay team moved into a top 5 position on the HR by running to a time of 10:06.13 edging out Oshkosh North, SPASH, and Kimberly who all ran times less than 10:08. The winning relay team consisted of [above L-R]: Courtney Perl, Haley Johnson, Niki Rhyan, and Claire Schmidt. Perl is pictured on the left running her leg of the relay.
