Beloit Memorial, Franklin, Merrill, Oak Creek, Verona, Waukesha West, Westosha Central and host Janesville Parker competed in the 11th Annual Janesville Parker Girls Track And Field Invitational at Janesville's Monterey Stadium. A strong wind hampered sprinters,hurdlers, and discus throwers but temperatures were in the 80's with clear skies. Waukesha West outpointed Verona and Parker to win with 187 points.


Shelby Demos [green jersey] from Janesville Parker won the 100m HH event in 16.16.




Second place finisher was Oak Creek senior Katie Edwards [blue jersey].



Melissa Espeseth [L] a senior from Merrill won the 100m dash event with a time of 13.42. In the finals above L-R: Katie Corrao [Waukesha West, 4th], winner Melissa Espeseth, Felicia Carlson [Beloit Memorial 2nd, 12.83 in prelims], and Niquisha Kenerson [Janesville Parker, 3rd].


Running into the wind provided a challenge for the athletes. Beloit Memorial senior Felicia Carlson [above left] overtook Merrill's Melissa Espeseth in the last 30 meters to win the 200m dash in 27.45. Espeseth and Carlson are pictured above. Parker sophomore Emily Mauermann [above #8] came in 4th while teammate Kelsey Jones was third.


Lauren Grant [L] a junior from Waukesha West won the 400m [1:02.45]. Heat 1 of the 1600m is shown above. Senior Katie Switalski [#2 below] won the 1600m in 5:38.42. Ninth grader Amanda Runde [3rd from right below] was second in 5:38.82. Mallory Schmidt from Waukesha West [#4 below] was third and sophomore Nicole Kollman [#1 below] was fourth. Below L-R: Andrekus Hannah [Westosha Central], Danielle Noland [Merrill], and Nikki Bakke [Parker].



Ninth grader Kayla Anderson [Above] from Verona won the 800m in 2:28.21. L-R on the right: Wolverine's Jocelyn Perry [ninth grader] and Kelsey Yaeger [sophomore] placed 1-2 in the 3200m run. Perry recorded a 12:01.82 in winning the event.




State Meet veteran's Shelby Demos [Above and right, Janesville Parker] and Eva Greenwalt [Below right, Verona] and sophomore Brooke Richardson of Verona competed well in the HJ event. Demos won with a height of 5' 06 while Greenwalt made 5' 04 and Richardson 5' 02.

Below L-R: Brittani Giesar from Westosha Central in the 300m LH. Discus winner Erika Moen of Janesville Parker [107' 00]. High winds hampered throws. Earlier in the week Moen threw 121' 04 in a dual meet at Sun Prairie. Niquisha Kenerson from Janesville Parker won the triple jump [34' 03.25].

The Waukesha West Wolverines won the 4x1 in 51.48. L-R: Katie Corrao, Emily Sawinski, Halley Ahler, and anchor Emily Duffy.

Janesville Parker recorded a 1:47.31 to win the 4x2. Viking relay runners were [Below L-R]: Emily Mauermann, Niquisha Kenerson, Shelby Demos, and anchor Kelsey Jones.



The Verona Wildcat 4x4 relay team won the event in 4:13.81. Relay members above L-R: Jackie Saleu, Allie Schultz, Caylie O'Neil, and anchor Brooke Richardson.
