The D1 preliminaries on Saturday saw the 100m, 200m, and 400m dash records fall. Rain hampered performances on Saturday but the sunny warm weather on Friday helped an assault on State Dash Records.

Allen who won and set state records in the 100m and 200m for D2 during the 2008 season did the same as a D1 athlete this season.

Another sophomore Chidera Obasih [right] the defending D1 100m State Champion from Brookfield Central came back with a vengence after false starting in her heat of the 100m.
