Dan Benson [above left] has been a fixture in Wauwatosa and Wauwatosa West athletics for over 50 years. This was the 30th annual Dan Benson Invitational named after the longtime track coach at Wauwatosa West. Dan assisted in football and track at Wauwatosa High School and went to Wauwatosa West when it opend in 1961. Benson still assists at track meets at West.

Brookfield Central, Homestead , Milwaukee Lutheran, Shorewood, Whitefish Bay, and host Wauwatosa West competed in muggy weather with high winds and overcast skies.


Brookfield Central's Chidera Obasih [above left and far right] won the 100m dash. Milwaukee Lutheran's Alex Schad [above middle] was second.

Above L-R: Heat 2 400m runners Alex Holtz [Homestead sophomore, 3rd], Keali Bjork [Homestead junior, 2nd], and heat 2 400m winner Courtney Kalous a ninth grader from Milwaukee Lutheran. Alex Holtz's sister Lauren Holtz, also a sophomore, won the 800m race [2:19.34-time submitted by Homestead coaches] right before lightning shortened the meet. The 200m dash, 3200m run and 4x400 relay events were not run.

Milwaukee Lutheran's Devin Stanford [Left] won both throwing events. On the Week 7 Honor Roll D2 lists Stanford is #1 in the discus [135' 01] and #2 in the SP [40' 07].
