Tina DeLakis, Eau Claire Memorial senior is pictured above and below at the WIAA 2009 State Meet in the D1 Shot Put event. At La Crosse in the rain she finished third behind D1 Champion Angela Boushea [Monona Grove] and Sam Steinbring [Graduated, Slinger]. At La Crosse DeLakis threw 39' 09.00. However she had set the Eau Claire Memorial school record during the 2009 season with a throw of 42' 10.

DeLakis sheattered her school record with a throw that traveled 45' 00.00 at the Blue Devil Open held at UW-Stout on March 30, 2010. This not only set a new school record but broke the Blue Devil Open record of 42' 11.00 set in 2008 by Mary Theisen of Eau Claire Regis. DeLakis, who is an outstanding swimmer at Memorial, had opportunities to compete in that sport at the college level, but she's decided to focus on track and field, concentrating on events such as the shot put, discus, hammer throw, and javelin. She has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Minnesota and will participate in track and field there.
