Janesville Parker

Division: 1
Enrollment: 1602
Coach: Dave Lehmann

Parker High School had only been open for 4 years when the first WIAA State Meet for girls was held in 1971 at Appleton East High School. Only six girls went out for track at Parker in 1971. However that tripled to 18 for the '72 season. The athletic facilities at Parker remained virtually unchanged from 1967-68 to 2008-09. A record setting referendum allowed both high schools in Janesville to get updated physical education and athletic facilities.

With snow still partially covering the track the new athletic facilites at Parker were put to good use.

Husband and wife team Cathy and Dave Lehmann have worked with the Parker track program for over 20 years. Early practices stress agility and running drills. The pictures below show some of the activities that Parker athletes did as coaches begin sorting out the various skills that each athlete brings to a team.

Assistant coach Mike Lloyd [Below] is pictured helping throwers learn the correct techniques of the assigned lifts.

The athletic facilities at Parker did not include equipment for the weight room. A group of Janesville citizens donated the funds needed to equip a first class weight room. Those donors are listed below.
