2010 Meet Records: Weeks 1,2, and 3

Abby Scharbarth (Above, Fr.,Lakeland) set meet, school, and fieldhouse records Tuesday, March 30 in the Long Jump. Her leap of 16' 11-3/4" also surpassed the outdoor school record (16' 9-1/2, Brooke Robertson, 2005). Scarbarth set her record at the 12th Annual Lady T-Bird Invitational held at the Lakeland High School Field House.

Colfax junior Sarah McMahon posted a 5:21.13 in the 1600m run to set a new record at the Northern Badger [Small school] meet on March 20 to break the old record of 5:23.08 set by Leslie Patterson of Park Falls in 1999.
Senior Stephanie Henry from La Crosse Logan broke her own record [7.50] in the 55m dash by racing to a time of 7.40 at the Norse HS Open held at Luther Colege, Decorah, IA.

Mary Theisen's SP record of 42' 11.00 set in 2008 fell as Eau Claire Memorial senior Tina DeLakis [above] launced a great throw of 45' 00.00 to set a new Blue Devil High School Open record. The Blue Devil meet was held at UW-Stout on Saturday, March 27.

Left: Arcadia senior Maya Vazquez broke the 400m record that she set in last years Blue Devil Open held at UW-Stout . In this years meet held on Tuesday, March 30, Vazquez raced to a time of 1:01.78.

At the same meet the Menomonie's 4x8 relay posted a 10:10.38 to break the record of 10:23.14 set by Hudson in 2008.

At the All-American Invitational held at the Knowles Fieldhouse at UW-River Falls on Saturday, March 27, New Richmond sophomore Kat Keller set records in the 55m and 200m dash events. In the 55m race she was clocked in 7.28 to break Kim Truong's [Apple Valley, MN] record of 7.35 set in 2003. Later in the meet Keller broke the 200m dash record of 26.98 set in 2004 by New Richmond alumni Hannah Demulling by posting a 26.23.

At the Tri State High School Invitational held at UW-Platteville on Saturday, March 20, Westby ninth grader Allyson Daines ran to a time of 11:42.34 in the 3200m run to break a 12 year old record set by Anne Fass [La Crosse Aquinas, 1998].

At the Large School Meet of the Northern Badger Classic held Saturday,March 20 at UW-Stout the La Crosse Central 4x2 relay team broke the record of Holmen [1:50.88] set in the 2009 meet. The Central girls posted a 1:50.27 to set a new meet record.
On Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Kachel Field House on the campus of UW-Whitewater at the Nelson Daniels Classic [Large schools] two records were set:

left: Milwaukee King senior Kiara Giles broke the meet record of 1:00.16 set in 2001 by Waukesha West athlete Amy Dian. She had a record time of 58.68.

Right: Homestead junior Marissa Savitch set a new Meet Record in the 55m HH race. Jenny Socecka a former Madison Memorial athlete set the old record in 2004 with a time of 8.61. In the preliminaries Savitch recorded a 8.38 to break the record


Greater Metro Conference Meet Records

At the Greater Metro Indoor Conference Meet held at West Allis Central on Wednesday, March 31 Brookfield Central and East athletes set indoor conference records.

Sussex Hamilton set records in the 4x240 and 4x160 relays.

Brookfield East set a new record in the 4x800 relay [10:08.32].Relay members were: Taylor Conway [left], Kathleen Browne, Natalie Dillon, Katie Tolan.

Brookfield Central's 4x400 consisting of Katelyn Malcore, Elizabeth Steif, Veronica Porubsky, and anchor Chidera Obasih [below left] posted a 4:19.58 to set a new indoor record.

In the triple jump Katelyn Malcore [below right] soared 37' 5.75 to set a new GMC indoor record.

North Shore Indoor Conference Records

Whitefish Bay senior Megan Palmer [Above at Lois Wolf 2009, right at State Meet 2009] set the North Shore Indoor Conference record in the 800m run by posting a 2:24.19 at Homestead on Wednesday, March 31. Palmer was the 800m D1 State Champion in 2008 [below right] with a time of 2:13.82 but battled illness in 2009.

Milwaukee Lutheran's 4x160 relay team set a new North Shore Indoor record by recording a 1:27.94. Relay members were:

At the North Shore Meet Germantown's 4x8 set an indoor record with a time of 10:10.38. Relay members were:

Classic '8' Indoor Record

On Tuesday, March 30, Milwaukee Pius XI junior Olivia Ramirez [left at Lois Wolf 2010 meet] posted a 1:01.40 in the 440yd dash to set a new Classic 8 conference indoor 440 record.

The old record of 1.01.91 was set by Dana Siebenaller, Milwaukee Pius XI in 2009.

The 440yd time converts to a 1:01.14 400m time.
On Tuesday, March 30, Waukesha North junior Jenna McMiller broke the old Classic '8' Indoor Record in the two mile [11:30.31] by running to a time of 11:14.13.

According to the editors of Track and Field News and their 'Big Green Book' of conversion tables you can subtract 3.1 from the two mile time to get an equivalent 3200m time. Thus McMiller's time converts to 11:11.03.
