WIAC 2010 Indoor Championships

This Honor Roll feature highlights former athletes who competed in Wisconsin high schools and were a part of past lists on the Honor Roll.

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Conference is made up of universities at Eau Claire, La Crosse, Oshkosh, Platteville, River Falls, Stevens Point, Stout, Superior, and Whitewater. WIAC: Indoor | Outdoor


The UW- La Crosse women suuccessfully defended their 2009 Indoor Championship by outscoring UW- Eau Claire 166.50 to 119.50. Eau Claire was 1 point ahead of third place UW- Oshkosh.

Junior Brooke Bell [L, Milwaukee Hamilton] was the 55m dash champion. She beat out second place finisher Kailey Charlton [Far right, Brookfield East] by .01 seconds. Elizabeth Caine [Right, Stevens Point] was 5th.

Platteville junior Cassie Schneider [Right, Boscobel] was 5th in the LJ.


In the pentathlon event women compete in the 800m run, the 55m high hurdles, the high jump, the long jump and the shot put. Depending upon their performance the athlete is awarded points. The top four pentathlon athletes in the 2010 WIAC Indoor Championships were [Above L-R]: Liz Amici a junior from UW-Eau Claire [4th, Whitewater], Leeanne Nowicki a junior from UW-La Crosse [2nd, Cottage Grove, MN], champion Danielle Anton a senior from UW-Whitewater [3120 points, Marshall], and third place finisher JoLyn Owen from UW-Whitewater [3rd, Middleton].

Former Waukesha West vaulter Danielle Carrigan took second place in the pole vault [ 11' 09] for the Titans from UW-Oshkosh

Haley Suckow from Elk Mound and now a senior from UW-Eau Claire was the pole vault champion [12' 02.75].

The UW- La Crosse 4x2 relay team posted a 1:42.85 to win that event.

The athletes pictured above were medal winners in the weight throw.
