Eighteen D2 and D3 teams competed at the 22nd Annual Deerfield Classic. The Sugar River Raiders edged out Lake Mills and Darlington for the team title.

Senior Anne Rauschert [above] from Wayland Academy [Beaver Dam] set a new high jump record with a height of 5' 05. She broke the old Deerfield Classic record of 5' 04 set in 1994 by Randolph-Cambria Friesland athlete Amy Wiersma. Rauschert is pictured above right making the record setting jump. In the two photos [below left] Rauschert is shown concentrating before the approach to her record setting performance. Below right: Second place [5' 02] went to ninth grader Bryton Nyman from Lake Mills.

Omro junior Amanda Obot [above] had a busy night. She won the 100m [12.31], 200m [25.51] and placed second in the 400m [1:01.39] dash events. She is shown above in the 100m finals.

Six girls are on the track team. All meets are away meets as Albany does not have a track. Despite the lack of numbers Albany has a tradition of having strong relay teams. |

A large crowd watched the Deerfield Classic. The pictures above, to the left and below are from the 4x8 relay event. Deerfield's refreshment stand was busy all night as track fans took advantage of the great food reputation that the stand has. Despite missing one of Wisconsin's best track and field athletes Briana Dunkleberger who sat out the meet with an injury the Lake Mills's "L-Cats" won the 4x2 relay [1:50.48]. Relay runners above L-R: Emma Koeppel [who won the SP, 36' 07, and was 2nd in discus throw], Jessica Powers, Gabriella Recob, and anchor Kayleigh Topel.
