D2 WIAA Regional At Parkview

The road to La Crosse began at 48 regionals around the state on Monday night. At Orfordville Parkview D2 schools competed for the right to advance to the Boscobel Sectional. Behind multi winners Eileen Gehring and Kelli McKenna the Madison Edgewood Crusaders scored 120.50 to edge McFarland in the team competition. A large crowd enjoyed ideal weather at the Orfordville Parkview Regional.

Kelli McKenna [above left] a junior freom Madison Edgewood won the 800m [2:21.74] and the 1600m [5:20.75] run events. Eileen Gehring [above right] won all three dash events with times of 12.49, 26.30 [25.85 in prelims], and 58.44.

Above L-R 1600m runners: Amanda Kaiser [11, Belleville-New Glarus, 4th], Camilla Klar [9, Brodhead-Juda,3rd], and ninth grader Casey Behnke from Beloit Turner who finished second.

Senior Jaclyn Ditter from Monroe fought through a near disaster on the last hurdle to finish second behind Belleville-New Glarus junior hurdler Victoria Ortgiesen [black Sugar River jersey].

Left: Third leg 4x2 runner from McFarland Krista Fedor. The McFarland 4x2 won the event [1:46.02] and set a school record. Jaciel Jermier, Kayleigh Dimeo, and anchor Michelle Witt were the other runners for McFarland.

Madison Edgewood and McFarland ran a very close 4x8 relay race. Edgewood had a 10:02.12 to take first over McFarland who posted a 10:02.90. Above, left and below-4x8 relay action.



Brodhead-Juda junior Heather Clankie [left and above] won the discus event with a throw of 133' 01. Teammates Alicia Condon [below left] and Carly Mohns [below right] are pictured after Condon who is a ninth grader got off a throw of 121' 03 to take second.

High jump winner Ashley Brusveen [right] cleared 5' 04 to take first. Brusveen is a senior at Belleville-New Glarus.
