17th Crusader Classic: Field & Relay Events

Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Waukesha Catholic Memorial High School. Results

Greendale Martin Luther's Kelly Flynn [left and above] was a double winner in the horizontal jumps with a distance of 16' 05.50 in the LJ and 34' 03.00 in the TJ. She 'inched' out Kara Krugel for first in the TJ by 3 inches.

Hartford senior Sierra Thomas [Above left and right] took second in the LJ and third in the TJ. She was only 1/4 of an inch behind Flynn in the LJ.

Left: Like the athletes the coaches became creative in dressing in order to ward off the cold north-east wind that increased as the meet went on. In addition to the Crusdaer Classic major meets were also run at Marshall [co-ed] and Racine [boys].




Shorewood [D2], Waukesha West [D1], and University Lake School [D3] engaged in a spirited 4x8 relay race. The Greyhounds from Shorewood edged out the Wolverines from Waukesha West 10:22.49 to 10:23.09. Shorewood's winning 4x8 relay team above L-R: Haley Holan, Nora Waters, Jenny Vrobel, and Kristen Malone.
