Algoma ninth grader Kennedy Blahnik made an impressive debut in her first WIAA State Meet. The D3 discus record was held by Kami Sweet from Riverdale [148' 09, 2003]. The former D3 SP record was set by Jamae Gjermo from Deerfield [46' 7.25, 2002]. Blahnik broke both records with throws of 150' 07 in the discus and a put of 47' 00.25 in the SP. Joe Frontier's action photographs show some of the outstanding perfomances in the throwing rings at the 2011 State Meet.
