On Friday, April 27, Rice Lake hosted quite a meet. Numerous meet records were broken. New Richmond senior Kat Keller [left and above at the 2011 WIAA State Meet] broke the 100m record of Ashley Roux [Rice Lake, 13.32, 2011] by racing to a 12.77 clocking. Keller rocketed to tthe top of the All-Division 400m HR List with a time of 57.32. This broke Claire Poethke's record of 1:02.06 set in 2010.

Above left: Katie Wetzstein [at the 2011 State Meet] from Hudson posted a 5:04.73 in the 1600m run to break the record of 5:25.64 set by Courtney Sawle from Menomonie in 2011.

Above center: Menomonie's Nicole Schmidt [at the 2010 State Meet] broke her own record of 2:21.15 set in 2011 by finishing with a 2:20.67 in the 800m run.

Above right: Menomonie jumps athlete Stafani Friedenfels [at the 2011 State Meet] had a big night setting records in the LJ and HJ. Her 5' 02 in the HJ broke Eau Claire North's Megan Wards old record of 5' 00 set in 2011. In the LJ Friedenfels sailed 17' 00.50 to break the record of 16' 06.00 previously set by Taylor Kollross of Eau Claire North in 2011.

Other records set were:

New Richmond 4x8 relay-10:04.62. This broke Chippewa Falls record of 10:28.39 set in 2011.

New Richmond 4x4 relay-4:09.83. This broke Eau Claire Memorials 2011 record of 4:17.04 set in 2011.

Triple jumper Anna McShane from New Richmond set a new record with a distance of 33' 10.75. This broke Cassie Takishita's [Eau Claire Meorial] of 33' 00.50 set in 2011.





Liz Bloy [left, #5, at the 2011 State Meet] is a junior from D2 Freedom.

She posted a 11:40.42 in the 3200m to win the 3200m run at the Gil Frank / Papermaker Invitational held at Kimberly on Friday, April 27.

Her time set a meet record in the 3200m run previously held by Kelly Bogard of Kimberly in 2006 of 11:41.24.

"Build it and they will come" is a well known quote. That quote certainly applies to Wisconsin Lutheran's new track. For the second big meet in a row athletes took advantage of the excellent facilities at 'WISCO' to post new records at the Pre-Prom Party meet.

Above left: Ambria Avery [at the 2011 State Meet] a junior from Wisconsin Lutheran posted set the 200m record with a time of 26.56 breaking the old record of 26.89 set by Kayla Jones form West Allis Hale in 2010.

Above right:: Taylor Corkum [at the 2011 State Meet] Wisconsin Lutheran junior vaulted 11' 00 to tie the meet record of 11' 00 set by Mel Pilon of Waukesha South in 2010.


Above left: Hannah Kren [at the 2011 State Meet] from Wisconsin Lutheran high jumped 5' 02 to break the record of 5' 00 set in 2010 and jointly held by Maggie Novak, Divine Savior Holy Angels, and Rachel Tesch, Wisconsin Lutheran.

Above right: Natalie Gottschalk [at the W/TFA 2012 Meet] from Waukesha South also jumped 5' 02 and is the co-holder of the new record.

Other records set were in the 4x8 by South Milwaukee. The Rockets posted a 10:13.50 to break the DSHA old record of 10:17.24.

Milwaukee Pius XI junior Maria Schmid ran to a 5:31.78 in the 1600m run to break the Leah Rendflesh [South Milwaukee] old record of 5:33.04.

South Milwaukee broke the Menomonee Falls 4x200 record of 1:49.77 with a time of 1:48.27.

Milwaukee Pius senior Jen Hagen hurdled to a new record in the 300m LH with a time of 45.15. This broke Wisconsin Lutheran's Christa Winslow's old record of 47.61 set in 2010.

In the SP senior Fabrerje Silverman from Milwaukee Pius XI had a throw of 38' 06.50 to break the 2010 record of 38' 06 set by Kelli Johnson of Wisconsin Lutheran.

Above left: Talia Spiegelberg broke the 800m record of 2:27.96 set by Niki Drolshagen of Muskego in 2011 by finishing first with a time of 2:21.50. Above center: Senior Mikayla Robertson from Menomonee Falls posted a 59.05 to break the 400m record of 1L01.13 set by Sarah Fox of D.S.H.A. in 2009. Above right: Ninth grader Ngozi Musa from Divine Savior Holy Angels broke the 100m record of 12.94 set by Allie Garcia in 2010 by racing to a time of 12.43

Neenah junior Alison Parker [right at the 29011 State Meet] broke her own Neenah Outdoor Invitational record of 5:12.47 set in 2011 by turning in a 5:01.10.

Alison's sister Jessica who is a sophomore also broke the old record with a time of 5:03.98 as well as senior Haley Johnson from Plymouth who ran a 5:07.21.

Wausau West senior Sarah Poirier [below] set a new 3200m record with a time of 11:10.11. This broke the old record of 11:31.66 set in wo11 by Appleton North's Rachel Weber.

Two Rivers runner Kelli Greenwood also ran a time of 11:29.05 in the 3200m which was under the old record.

The Neenah 4x4 posted a 4:05.65 to break Two Rivers time of 4:07.40 set in 2003. Neenah also set a new record in the 4x8 with a time of 9:37.93 breaking the record of 9:45.36 that they set in 2011.
