76th Annual Midwest XC Invitational

In what may have been a preview of the D1 State XC Meet Hartland Arrowhead edged Neenah 90-92 at the 76th Annual Midwest Invitational, Over 3,000 runners at all levels competed in the meet hosted by Janesville Craig. 238 varsity girls competed as senior Isabel Seidel from University Lake School posted a 14:06.06 to win the varsity race. Big 8 schools Sun Prairie, Middleton, and Madison West finished 3-5. D2 schools Madison Edgewood and Dodgeville-Mineral Point finished 6th and 10th.
Many of the runners at the Midwest Meet will be leaders in the 2014 Honor Roll distance event lists. Wisconsin Track Online after 20 years of compiling the Girls Honor Roll lists will have a reduced roll for the 2014 season. The goal will be to produce photo features of meets in order to archive photos to show members of the Top 50 Lists compiled by Mike Krugel.
Showing athletes at the Midwest Meet will give track fans a sneak preview of some of the top distance athletes in the state. Wisconsin Sports Net has a Girls Honor Roll list so there should be no lack of performance data for athletes, parents, and coaches during the 2014 track and field season.
