With a record number of meets cancelled in the last two weeks because of winter conditions it was nice to have the sun out and clear skies for the meet. However cold early morning temperatures left the field event throwing areas iced over. Coach Jason Goede and his staff had prepared for this and covered the jump areas the week of the meet. The rings had snow and ice but that was removed prior to the meet.
