Danielle Barbian Sets Ivy League Record In The 100m Dash

Former Sussex Hamilton athlete Danielle Barbian [#4 above on the right] a junior at Harvard University broke the Ivy League and Harvard record in the 100m dash by posting a time of 11.65 seconds at the Texas Southern University Relays held March 21, 2014. She finished first in the 100m finals at the TSU Relays. During the indoor season she set school and Ivy League records in the 60m with a 7.44 run.

Last weekend, on April 5, Barbian helped set school records in the 4x1 and 4x2 at the Florida Relays held on the campus of the Universitry of Florida at Gainesville.

At the 2010 State Meet Hamilton's 4x2 beat Bradley Technical by .14 seconds. Anchors Danielle Barbian [Sussex Hamilton] and Elexis Fuller-Stewart [Bradley Technical] are pictured above as they head into the straightaway.

The D1 Champion 4x2 team from Sussex Hamilton consisted of: Ellen Buckley, Jess Rupnow, Brooke Patterson, and anchor Danielle Barbian.

Barbian began her track career by running for the Mustangs Track Club.
