Athletes Continue To 'PR' In Summer Competitions

Jefferson's Mikaela Grant who will be a junior next season won the Heptathlon in the womens 17-18 year old division at the USA Youth Outdoor Championships held at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN from June 24th to June 29th. The heptathlon consists of the 100m HH, high jump, shot put, 200m dash, long jump, javelin throw, and 800m run events. Grant is shown above on the podium after the heptathlon events. A week earlier Grant raced to a time of 14.69 in the 100m HH at the AAU District Qualifier held at Carroll University on June 21.

Wisconsin Track Online Feature For 2014


Wisconsin high school athletes continue to 'PR' during their summer competitions. Kenosha Tremper graduate Danielle Riggins [above left and center at the 2014 WIAA State Meet] posted times of 11.62 and 23.70. in the 100m and 200m dash events at the AAU Region 14 National Qualifier held at Park Center High School [Brooklyn Park, MN] from June 26 th to June 29th.

In addition Riggins lowered her All-Time Wisconsin Best mark in the 100m HH event by blazing to a 13.63 clocking at the AAU District Qualifier held at Carroll University [Waukesha] on June 21st.

Whitefish Bay's Cami Davre [above right at the 2014 Dan Benson held at Wauwatosa West] who will be a sophomore next year posted a 2:11.64 in the Girls 15-16 year old 800m run at the USA Youth Outdoor Championships held at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN from June 24th to June 29th. Davre beat Garielle Wilkinson from Philadelphia in a close race on Saturday, June 28. Wilkinson was timed in 2:12.50. Also in the 15-16 girls 1500m took first place with a time of 4:39.18, winning by just .43 seconds.

The Whitefish Bay 800m run record was set by Megan Palmer who recorded a 2:13.82 in 2008 when Palmer won the D1 800m Gold Medal.

At the same meet Milwaukee Madison's Jade Nolan [photo are from the 2014 WIAA State Meet] who will be a senior next season long jumped 18' 08.25.

Also at the AAU Region 14 National Qualifier Milwaukee Vincent graduate Alize Souter [photo are from the 2014 WIAA State Meet] triple jumped 37' 02,25.

At Park Center New Berlin West's Rayce Albino [photo are from the 2014 WIAA State Meet] who will be a senior next season vaulted 13' 00.00.




Angel Malone [above left] at the 2014 East Troy Invitational] who will be a senior next season long jumped 18' 10.50 at the AAU District Qualifier held at Carroll University on June 21st. Milwaukee King graduate Sydney Matthew [above right at the 2014 WIAA State Meet] posted a 14.50 in the 100m HH event at Carroll University on June 21st.
