Homen senior Joanna Schultz completed an outstanding four year high school running career by winning her fourth straight 400m State Championship. Schultz who is the state record holder in the event [55.81] won with a time of 55.97. Above: Junior Akaila Cabell from Racine Case [green jersey] was third in 56.96 while Stevens Point senior Kelly Shaw [SPASH black and white jersey] was second in 56.30.

Above left: Jamie Dittmar a junior from Wausau East ran 2:11.35 to win the D1 championship in the 800m. The State record is 2:09.88 set by Suzy Favor [Stevens Point] in 1985.

Above middle: Deidre Dillman a sophomore from Prairie Du Chien won the D2 800m in 2:14.51.

Above right: Dani Owen a senior from Stratford who is the D3 800m record holder [ 2:15.63, 2005] repeated as champion by posting a time of 2:18.62.


Above: In the D3 1600m [R-L] Laura Palmer a junior from Pittsville was second [5:11.28], Dani Owen senior from Stratford was 1st [ 5:09.68], Stacy Thiel junior from Sheboygan Area Lutheran was 3rd [ 5:15.84], and ninth grader Samantha Bluske from Pardeeville was 4th [5:17.44]. In the 800m Palmer was a close second [2:18.89] to Dani Owen.

Left: On a day when spectators tried to cope with the sun and high temperatures 3200m runners pushed their bodies to the limit. Claire Maduza, a senior from Shorewood, held nothing back in chasing the 1984 3200m D2 record. Maduza finished second in the 2005 3200m D2 [11:11.51]. She won the 2006 D2 3200m championship with a time of 10:45.29. Finishing second to Maduza was Weyauwega-Fremont senior Josey Bellin [upper right] with a time of 10:55.54.
