Classic 8 Outdoor Conference Championships

Above: 100m Finals [L-R] Megan Pitts [Kettle Moraine, 4th, 13.12], Rebecca Michalek [Mukwonago, 3rd, 13.06], winner Katie Duchow [Hartland Arrowhead, 12.62], Emily Duffy [Waukesha West, 2nd, 12.89] and Courtney Craig [Waukesha West, 6th, 13.41].

Hartland Arrowhead emerged as the champion of the Classic 8 by scoring 180 points to runnerup Waukesha West's 156 points. Christina Gaspar tied the conference record in the 300m LH while Waukesha South junior Jennifer Lehman set a record in the high jump with a jump of 5' 06.00. This broke the old record of 5' 05.00 set by Milwaukee Pius XI graduate Allie Schmidt in 2006.

Double winners were Duchow [ 100m,200m], Lehman [HJ,LJ], Sonia Zoric [SP, 43' 07.00; Discus, 133' 05], Gaspar [HH,LH], Stephanie Grant [400m, 4x4]. Waukesha West swept the relay events.

Right: Waukesha West junior Stephanie Grant had a busy night as she placed second in the 200m dash [26.64], first in the 400m [58.76] and was a member of the Wolverines winning 4x4 relay team.

Above: Waukesha Catholic Memorial senior Christina Gaspar [L] was the conference champion in both hurdle events. She ran a 15.35 in the 100m HH and tied a conference record in the 300m set by Jill Naus of Milwaukee Pius XI in 1998 by posting a 45.95. Gaspar is pictured in the 300m event with second place finisher Kailie Seneczko [Red jersey, Hartland Arrowhead, 46.13].
