Honor Roll Alumni Compete at the Badger Track Classic

Saturday, January 12, 2008 at the 'Shell' on the campus of UW-Madison: Heat Sheets | Results


Teams from UW-Madison, Concordia, UW-Eau Claire, Marquette, UW-Parkside, Northern Illinois, as well as track clubs that include present high school students competed at the Shell on Saturday, January 12. Even though the high school track season begins March 3 the Honor Roll took the opportunity that the Badger Track Classic presented to view past Wisconsin high school athletes in collegiate action.

Senior captains Ann Detmer [Lodi, '04], Blair Luethmers [Park Falls, '03], Kayla Schultz [Clinton, '04], and Venus Washington [Milwaukee Vincent, '03] will lead the Badger women during the 2008 indoor season.

Left: Athletes competing at the Badger Track Classic included some high school students as well as college graduates who continue to excell. One pole vaulter set a World Record for his age group. Jeff Kingstad a former UW-Wisconsin track standout [1971-74] vaulted 13' 06.25 to set a record for his age group [55-59].

Stephanie Kenesie [Kenosha St Josephs] is pictured in a preliminary heat [black jersey, far left] of the 60m HH event. As a senior at St. Joseph's she won four events at the 1999 Independent Schools Division II State Track and Field Meet. After completing her athletic eligibility at UW-Milwaukee Kenesie continues to compete. She is a member of the Greater Milwaukee Track Club.
