They are always there. Just look up on the walls in a school gym or field house area. Track and field records give fans a chance to think back to special performances. The records are part of the history of a school. Fans might say "Yea! I was there." Others might think "I wonder what type of athlete the record holder was?" Some records stand for what seems forever. To break one is quite an accomplishment. To break two school records in the same night is very memorable. Whitefish Bay senior Becca Schmidt participated in the Lady Spartan Meet at Brookfield East High School on Wednesday, April 22. The meet had many outstanding performances. Schmidt had two of those. She set school records in the 100m and 200m events breaking former Blue Duke athlete Brittany Henderson's 100m and 200m records. Schmidt recorded times of 12.29 and 25.74 in finishing behind defending D1 100m and 200m champion Chidera Obasih of Brookfield Central. Below: The 'Blue Dukes' track and field area.

Senior Hannah Wallace [L] is a versatile athlete who excels in the jumps. She set the school record at Whitefish Bay in the pole vault with a height of 11' 03 at the 2008 WIAA State Meet [below].

She finished second to 2008 D1 Champion Melissa Flucke [11' 06] of Ashwaubenon.

Wallace also qualified for the 2008 State Meet in the TJ event [L].

On Wednesday night, April 22, at the Lady Spartan Meet held at Brookfield East High School Wallace broke her own school record with a vault of 11' 06.00. For the Week 6 Honor Roll she is in position 2 on the HR PV List.
