Overcast skies cleared and the temperature soared at the start of the Bangor Invitational. D2 Sparta won the 16 team meet followed by Arcadia, Viroqua, Mauston, Westby and Cashton.

Both D2 and D3 schools competed at the meet .A strong wind from the south made the final turn a challenge.

Coaches often spend more time with other peoples kids than their own. However jumps coach Alan Suchla from Arcadia was fortunate to have coached his three daughters when they were Arcadia students. In fact all three daughters were State Qualifiers in the TJ while on the Red Raiders track and field team.

Michelle Suchla [above right] was 8th in the TJ and on the Arcadia D3 State Champion 4x4 and 4x8 relay teams at the 2003 WIAA State Meet. Erika Suchla was the D2 State Champion in the TJ at the 2009 State Meet. Suchla's youngest daughter Alayna was also a state qualifier in the TJ at the 2011 State Meet. Alan now will be able to coach his son when he enters Arcadia high school.
