Amber Sanderson [below left and right] a senior at La Crosse Logan was a force for the Rangers at the Middleton Sectional. At the regional at Portage in 2011 Sanderson who had one of the best HH times in D1 caught a hurdle, took a fall, but still finished. However her time did not qualify her for the sectional.

Attacking the hurdles at Middleton Sanderson recorded a 14.01 to take first and gain a berth in the 2012 State Meet. She followed her HH performance by winning the 300m LH in 46.42. Above L-R: Allissa Nelson [Sun Prairie, 2nd, 14.55], Danielle Kohlwey [Holmen, 3rd, 14.60], and Sanderson.


The Holmen Regional [Baraboo, Holmen, La Crosse Central, La Crosse Logan, Onalaska, Portage, Reedsburg Area, Sauk Prairie, Tomah] and the Waunakee Regional [DeForest, Madison East, Madison La Follette, Madison Memorial, Madison West, Middleton, Monona Grove, Sun Prairie, Waunakee] competed in the D1 sectional at Middleton. Like many sectionals a strong wind made events interesting for the athletes.

Sun Prairie edged Madison La Follete 78-72 for the team title followed closely by the Rangers from La Crosse Logan. Seventeen teams scored points at the Middleton Sectional. The Top three in each event move on to La Crosse for the State Meet, June 1-2.

Sun Prairie [Angie Konicek, Josey Stock, Abby Fabris, and Sydney Steiner] won in 9:45.26.


La Crosse Logan won the 4x2 relay in 1:43.29. Teammembers were:

Gabby Beauvais a ninth grader from Monona Grove won the LJ [18' 00.50]. Her winning jump is pictured on the right.


Teammates Katrina Fuchs [above left and below right] and Libby Molitor [above right and right] took the first two places for the Eagles from Sauk Prairie. Both cleared 10' 00 with Molitor the winner on fewer misses.

Third place in the PV went to Sun Prairie's Sydney Steiner [Below left, 9' 06].


Senior Kayla Brown [above and right] from La Crosse Logan was the SP winner [42' 03.00].

Second place in the SP went to Kamry Gipson [below left, Sun Prairie, 40' 08.25].

Monona Grove's Kaitlyn Long [below right] was third with a throw of 38' 07.00.


Defending D1 Discus Champion KeKe Burks [left and above] a senior from Madison La Follette placed first at Middleton with a throw of 128' 05.
