Above: Throws coach Shawn O'Loughlin works with throwers in the balcony overlooking the main gym. Coach Katherine Bernau will also work with the throwers and high jump athletes
Above: Head football and boys track coach Bob Hyland [above right] coaches the hurdles and horizontal jumps. When older pole vault pits were replaced he made an indoor long jump pit [above center]. The gym does not have a recessed jumps area. Like most schools Springs makes use of every part of the school for workouts. Coach Hyland goes to the third floor for hurdle work. Coach Hyland also leads the warmups.
Above left and right: Abbe Busse is a versatile athlete in the middle distances and the hurdles.

Above: A very steep hill with a private road is an ideal [at least for coaches] tool for outdoor workouts. The hill is right behind the school. Throwers, sprinters, and distance runners benefit from the workout of 'climbing' the hill. At the top athletes can turn and see Lake Winnebago in the distance.
