At her first State Meet in 2011 Kennedy Blahnik [left] set a SP record with a throw of 47' 00.25. This year she again broke the record with her second throw in trials with a distance of 47' 11. To see the video of the record throw go to D3 SP RECORD.

The Blahnik family had a big weekend at the State Meet. Kennedy's brother Zach [above] set a new D3 discus record with a throw of 175' 06. That distance broke the old record of 175' 03 set by Jermiah Rolfs of Wild Rose in 1999. Zach and Kennedy's coach is their father Dean [above].

Abbey Ristow [right] a senior from Ellsworth made an amazing comeback this school year from a torn ACL injury she received in a January basketball game. That injury caused her to miss the remainder of the basketball season and it was projected she would miss her senior year of track and field.

However somehow she returned for the later half of the track and field season and ended up as the D2 Discus Champion. Her winning throw was 129' 04.
