In the 100m prelims Blackhawk junior Jen Wellnitz [above in the finals, and right in the prelims] set a new record by posting a 12.81. This broke former Blackhawk dash athlete Rachel Rygh's record [12.98, 2010]. Finals of the 1oom dash.

Twelve teams competed at Cuba City in the Chris Becker Memorial Invitational. Darlington won the meet with 112 1/2 points followed by host school Cuba City.

Above: Alison Wedig [Darlington] and 400m winner Brittany Davis [Benton-Scales Mound-Shullsburg] in the backstretch of the 400m long dash.

Davis set a new record of 1:00.36 breaking the old 400m record of 1:00.54 set by Deidre Dillman [Prairie du Chien, 1:00.54, 2008]. Davis also won the 800m run with a time of 2:26.52.

Cuba City sophomore Molly Wedige [above, 2nd from left] won the SP event and also set a new Cuba City school record with a throw of 38' 01.75. Wedige's teammate Preston Kopp [2nd from right] took 3rd in the SP. Wedige's mother Kerie and Kopp's father Gary are also pictured a above. Gary Kopp is the throws coach at Cuba City.
