Sunday, May 12, is a most special day in which we honor mothers. At track meets athletes biggest fans are their mothers and fathers. The encouragement that parents give to their athletes is a very important factor in athletes having a positive experience in high school track and field.
Above left: Todd and Patti Linse are shown with Brooke who is one of their 3 children who are members of the Jefferson Track and Field Team. Brooke, Megan, and Zach are triplets who are in their last season at Jefferson. Along with their cousin Calli who is a ninth grader the Linse's each contributed points that enabled Jefferson to finish in third place at the meet.

Whitewater sophomore Kailey Reynolds won the 100m and 200m dash events.
Reynolds [#5] is shown below in the finals of the 100m dash in which she posted a 13.20 into a strong wind.

Left: Brodhead head girls coach Ken Petersen. Ken began his coaching career at Monroe HS in the early 1970's and then moved to Brodhead High School where he has coached track and field since 1978-79.
Coach Petersen was most busy being meet director as the Rock Valley Conference has 12 Division 2 teams: Beloit Turner, Big Foot, Brodhead-Juda, Clinton, East Troy, Edgerton, Evansville, Jefferson, McFarland, Orfrodville Parkview, Palmyra-Eagle, and Whitewater.

The East Troy Trojans won the 4x8 relay [9:58.14]. Relay runners above L-R: Katie Hodges, Erin Parr, Brooke Bartlett, and anchor Rachel Atchison.
East Troy and Brodhead-Juda had a tight race for most of the 4x8. Brodhead-Juda finished in 2nd in 10:04.76. Right and below: 4x8 relay runners.
