Track fans did not have to wait long to find out who the 'new kid on the block' was. Ninth grader Azya McLin [left, Wauwatosa West] won the 55m dash in 7.41. [Note- McLin is shown in the 4x2 relay event. All dash and hurdle pictures are from the preliminaries].

Milwaukee King teammates Tahtyana Peer [above center] and Alexis Redd-Triggs [above right] finished 2-3.

Arrowhead's Jackie Dubnicka [left] went out strong and kept up an intense pace in winning the 1600m race in 5:14.64.

Twenty-five large school teams from Wisconsin and Illinois competed at the Nelson-Daniels Classic. Cary Grove [IL] won the meet by 1 1/2 points over Milwuakee King.

Arrowhead High Schools tradition of strong 4x8 relay teams continued at the Nelson-Daniels Classic. The team recorded a 10:03.13 in winning the 4x8. They were followed by Beaver Dam [10:14.06].

It is hard to think of the time that it takes to run off 5/100 ths of a second but the photograph on the left shows that difference.

Cary Grove [northwest suburb of Chicago] won the 4x2 race in a 'photo finish.' The scoreboard shows the razor thin difference. Cary Grove won the race with Milwaukee King finishing a close second.
