WIAC Indoor - Day 1: Former Wisconsin High School Athletes Compete 
Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Conference Indoor Track And Field Championships: Friday and Saturday, February 28 and March 1 at UW-Whitewater. Results
UW-La Crosse took an early lead after Day 1 in the WIAC Indoor Championships hosted by UW-Whitewater Head Men and Womens Coach Mike Johnson and his staff at the Kachel Field House. UW- La Crosse increased their team lead during the second day and won the meet with 207 points followed by UW-Oshkosh [134 pooints] and host UW-Whitewater [92 points].

Cazzola came back on Saturday to establish a new 3000m run record with a time of 9:49.49. This broke the old record of 9:54.79 set in 1989 by UW-Oshkosh runner Cheryl Niederberger. The 9:49.49 was also a facility record for the Kachell Field House. In addition Cazolla's time in the 3000m bettered the current 2014 NCAA D3 season mark of 9:40.23 that was held by former Platteville high school runner Tricia Serres. Serres now runs for Luther [ IA] College.

Above: Jaime Ludwigson a UW La Crosse junior from Bloomer had the best time of 8.87 in the 60m HH during prelims. Ludwigson won the event in the finals with a time of 8.85 which was a facility record.

The Long Jump event was won by UW-Whitewater's Lexie Sondgeroth [far right] a junior from Rochelle Township, IL. Her winning jump was 19' 10.25. This is the best jump in D3 NCAA as of 2/28/2014.
