Below left: Head Boys Coach Mark Aslakson. Coach Aslakson has been at Bradford for 40 years as a head track coach. He works with boy and girl distance runners. He is also the Head Boys and Girls Cross country Coach.

Below right: Assistant Coach Deb Bornhuetter. Coach Bornhuetter was the head girls coach of Kenosha Tremper in 2013 and 2014 when Tremper won the D1 State Championships. Bornhuetter will work with the sprint group.

Bradford has had a Field House since 1981 but does not have an outdoor track. Thus all meets are away meets. A referendum in April if successful would help build an outdoor track and field facility at Bradford.

After a short group warmup the athletes went to groups for the throwers, distance runners, and jumps and dash athletes for specialized drills

The throw athletes were in constant motion with a variety of fundamental drills leading to actual throws of the SP









After footwork drills the distance athletes went outside to take advantage of the temperature which was in the high 40's. Distance athletes depending on their experience level ran outside for 20 minutes or 50 minutes.

An interesting photo in the Bradford Tropy Case shows the boys school record setting 4x1 and 4x2 relay team from 2011

L-R: Melvin Gordon III, Jun Lee, Vonte Jackson, and Trae Waynes

Melvin Gordon III had a LJ of 23' 06.25 at the 2011 WIAA State Meet [good for 2nd place] and was the anchor on the Bronze Medal winning Bradford 4x1.

Gordon was the runner-up for the 2014 Heisman Trophy Award.

Waynes was a starting cornerback for the Michigan State football team and was named All Big Ten first team and a 2014 second team All-American. Waynes was the Bronze Medal winner in the 100m dash at the 2011 WIAA State Meet.

Vonte Jackson had a promising football career at Wisconsin cut short by injuries.
