A key ingrediant to any track and field program is to get the students to come out for the sport. Tom Kammer puts together posters during the year and preseason period that highlight different aspects of the program.

Detailed are the schedule, award requirements, past athletes now competing in college, the history of the Mississippi Valley Conference Meet, the preseason team meeting, and highlight photos frrom the previous seasons meets including the State Meet.

At last seasons Mississippi Valley Meet Morris was HJ Champion, Ganrude won the LJ, and Sprain was on the winning 4x2 and placed second in the 100m HH and 4x1 relay events.

2015 marks the 22nd year that I have covered girls track and field performances. Coach Kammer was one of my original sources back in 1994 helping with information from his part of the state. This is the 11th year that I have produced preseason practice features. At every stop I have been incredibly impressed by the teaching and motivation skills that Wisconsin high school coaches exhibit in order to maximize the potential of their athletes. Hurdle Drils

The dash and jumps athletes ran a series of 'Ladder Drills' starting with 300m runs and working to 100m intervals

After a series of leadup drills hurdle athletes progressed to one hurdle and then 5 hurdles.

Logan graduate [2012] Amber Sanderson has helped by helping middle school athletes in their hurdling techniques. The Rangers will open their season at the Stevens Point Invite on Friday, March 20. Then the Rangers will have a quick turnaround as they travel to Luther College [Decorah, IA] for a Saturday Meet on March 21.

Iowa has the Shuttle Hurdle event as a regular part of their regular and State Meet competitions. The 4x110m Hurdle Shuttle Relay will give the Ranger hurdle athletes an early season test in their skills.

Ladder Drills

The throw athletes stayed inside for a combined practice with the boys throw team. Practice was in the Field House and weight room. Thrower Stacia Munson [Above, 2nd from right] was second to teammate Kasseria Hansen [not shown] by 1/2 inch in the 2014 conference meet. Hansen won the SP event in 2014.
