Brenda Hernanadez [above right] did not start running for the Purple Knights until her junior year. Between her junior and senior year she improved her times significantly. As a junior she ran the 4k in 18:48 and then as a senior her 5k time was at 18.48 and under. Hernandez was not on the 2014 Honor Roll but this season has progressed to where she was listed in the top 7 on the D1 1600m and 3200m lists for Week 5.
