Above finals of the D2 300m LH L-R: Pamela Fuchsel [2nd in 45.10, Aquinas] Gold Medal winner Mikaela Grant [45.03, Jefferson], Addy Baker [4th, Ripon, Ellie Luke [3rd, Mauston], and Jordan Hirsbrunner [7th, Monroe]. Despite a fall earlier in the high hurdle prelims on Friday Grant regrouped and ran a sizzling 300m LH prelim.

Earlier during Fridays preliminaries Grant had a sizable lead in the 100m HH prelims before taking a bad fall before the last hurdle. Later she came back in the 300m LH prelims and set a State Record. Freedom's Melissa Talbot had posted a 44.03 in 2002 to set the D2 300m LH record. Grant was on fire in the 300 prelims and finished her heat with a clocking of 43.63 to set a new D2 300m LH record. Nevertherless she had to work very hard in the 300m LH finals as each of the 9 other finalists challenged for the Gold Medal.
