2015 WIAA TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS: Run Events
Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6, 2015: Veterans Memorial Field @ UW-La Crosse. Results D1 D2 D3 WC
The second oldest record [Wendy Markham's 6' 00 HJ record set in 1980 is the oldest] in D1 Girls Track and Field fell when Whitefish Bay sophomore Cami Davre posted a 2:09.22 in the 800m run. The old record of 2:09.88 was held by Stevens Point's Suzy Favor and was set in 1985. Davre came out of the final turn in the 800 with determination and sprinted to the finish line. All eyes turned to the Prime Time scoreboard clock as she crossed the line.
One can only imagine what the limits will be next season as 7 of the top 10 finishers in the D1 800m race return. Emma Langer [#3, above right] a junior at Waukesha West was second in 2:12.87. Langer matched Davre stride for stride until the final turn. Davre also won the 800m event at the 2014 State Meet.
